The Act allowed witnessing/commissioning of affidavits, declarations, notarized documents, deeds and wills "through the use of audio-visual technology", but the COVID-19 public health emergency ended (March 2022 (date unverified)), and the consolidated statute shows no amendments (footer "[2020 T-4.001 s7]") and no permanent successor act exists in the NL statute index (checked for an "Alternate Witnessing of Documents Act" — none). Current default: physical presence. Who could do it (under the lapsed Act, for reference): commissioners for oaths who are barristers; for notarized documents and wills the remote witness had to "be a lawyer." Fee rules: no statutory cap found (unverified)
