History: temporary Ministerial Order 2020-4304 (Apr 27, 2020) allowed remote notarial acts during the health emergency; made durable and then permanent through amendments to the Notaries Act (assented 2023; some technological-medium provisions phased in force by regulation — in-force status of specific paragraphs as of Aug 2026 (unverified); bill number (unverified)). Chambre des notaires currently advertises "Signing a technology-based notarial act remotely" as an available service. Remote act closes "at the place where the notary signs it."
