Notaries and commissioners should clearly indicate that a document was executed virtually or remotely where applicable." Court of King's Bench 2020 COVID notice permitted remote commissioning of affidavits for court use (current status of that notice: unverified). Permanent statutory remote witnessing exists for wills/enduring POA/personal directives via 2020 COVID-19-era amendments requiring lawyer involvement (Wills and Succession Act etc.) (unverified detail). Who can do it: notaries public (lawyers/students-at-law ex officio; appointed lay notaries) and commissioners for oaths — subject to acceptor's requirements. Fee rules: no statutory fee/cap — official FAQ: "there is no set fee for these services."
